At the meeting of the International Discussion Club “VISION 3000”, the topic of which was: “The experience of intercultural and interreligious interaction, the preservation and development of traditions of peoples living in Russia,” Galina Merzlikina, economist, art critic, curator, international expert on cross-cultural communications, President of the Center for International and Cultural and Business Cooperation “Culture for Life”, Vice President of the Foundation for the Promotion of Cultural Heritage named after K.A.Korovin, “Let’s save together.” Topic: “Cultural code: the legacy of Maria Tenisheva in the promotion of Russian culture.”
The cultural code is the key to understanding and preserving culture: traditions, customs, values, and the way of life of the people.
For more than fifteen years, I have been engaged in projects to preserve, popularize and promote Russian culture, using various types of art that meet the request and reveal to the greatest extent the spiritual sides of the numerous peoples inhabiting our country.
Art has an amazing ability to bring people together. It transcends the boundaries of language and cultural differences. By creating international cultural projects, we are living a new history together, getting the keys to understanding each other.
Russian Russian Culture In 2024 in Moscow, together with the Center for International, Cultural and Business Cooperation “Culture for Life”, we are holding events of the project “Maria Tenisheva’s Legacy to the younger generation”, where we talk about the activities of this great woman to preserve the Russian cultural code and popularize Russian culture abroad. Russian Russian antiquities Throughout her life in Russia, Tenisheva collected a collection of Russian antiquities, created workshops for the production of Russian-style products, built and presented the Museum of Russian Antiquities to Smolensk, in which she placed her collection. In 1907, she presented a collection of Russian antiquities at the Louvre (France, Paris). Russian Russian Princess and her collection were featured in all the newspapers of Europe, lace blouses A La Rus became fashionable. Maria Tenisheva is a vivid example of serving Russia, preserving and developing the traditions of the Russian people.
In general, the experience of Russian patrons is very interesting and revealing, and today is the time to become new patrons, collect, help, show and talk about the culture and art of peoples.
Since 2016, I have been the vice-president of the Konstantin Korovin Foundation for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage “Let’s Save Together”. In July 2024, the board and trustees of the Foundation established the Konstantin Korovin Prize in the field of contemporary art. This is an international project for artists from all over the world who proclaim beauty and joy in their work, as Konstantin Alekseevich Korovin, the great Russian artist, once did. With this project, we want to show the whole world the traditions of Russian painting, echoing the European tradition, but remaining original. We are collecting a collection of contemporary art, which will later become the basis of the museum’s collection.
I urge everyone to participate in international projects, communicate, write on social networks about our culture and art, the only way we can become involved in intercultural dialogue, we can talk about our national traditions and learn the traditions of other peoples, so we will once again live a common history that will promote mutual understanding, friendship, cooperation and peace.
