Protocol today, or how changes in the global context affect the rules of official communication

On December 13, 2023, the Moscow House of Nationalities hosted the final meeting of the International Discussion Club “VISION 3000” in 2023 with the support of the Moscow Government (Department of National Policy and Interregional Relations of the City of Moscow, GBU “Moscow House of Nationalities”).

The agenda of the meeting was devoted to the topic: “Protocol today, or how changes in the global context affect the rules of official communication.”

The modern world, which has entered the era of globalization, dictates the need to rethink the interrelationships of human values in different spheres from qualitatively new positions. Protocol occupies a special place in modern times.

The development of the profession in modern conditions, the preservation of the best protocol traditions and the creation of a practice that reflects the realities of today’s time, protocol for business – these and other issues will be raised at the meeting of the club.

The meeting was opened by Amirova Alfiya, President of the International Union of Women, President of the International Discussion Club VISIO 3000.

Representatives of relevant organizations of the regions of the Russian Federation, representatives of Embassies, protocol experts, public figures, etc. were invited and spoke as speakers. :

Gilana Mikhailova is the Head of Programs at the Higher School of Economics, RANEPA, Executive Director of the National Association of Protocol Specialists. Gillana shared new trends in the Protocol. What changes are taking place in the protocol and how changes in the global context affect the rules of official communication.

Vadim Ganin is the General Director of the Business Center for Economic Development of the CIS. Vadim Valeryevich in his speech spoke about the activities of the business center, its projects and cooperation with the CIS countries.

Svetlana Malinina is the Head of the Press Service of the CIS Secretary General’s office. Svetlana conveyed greetings to the participants of the meeting from the Secretary General of the CIS Lebedev Sergey Nikolaevich. The Commonwealth of Independent States has been in existence for more than 30 years and it is a serious information platform that develops and reveals itself in the best way for its participants and, despite all the vicissitudes of modernity, continues to actively operate.

Alsu Nabieva is the Rector of the Russian University of Cooperation, Doctor of Economics. Deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan of the sixth convocation. Head of the association of women deputies of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan “Marhemet— Mercy”. In her speech, Alsu Rustemovna told about the specifics of the protocol for receiving guests from Muslim countries within the framework of KazanForum, in addition, she proposed to create a working group with specialists who deal with the protocol on the basis of the Russian University of Cooperation, so that we could train those who want to learn more nuances in this area.

Victoria Kopashina – Deputy Director of the Sales Department, Government Segment. The Carlton Moscow Hotel. Victoria shared the practices of diplomatic etiquette using the example of the Carlton Moscow Hotel.

Nikolay  Dmitriev is an expert in the field of protocol. Nikolai noted important points in the Protocol, spoke about the nuances, about the work of the “protocol officers”, gave examples from his practice.

Nadezhda Fedorova is the Director of the Flower Protocol Department of the International Women’s Union. Commercial Director of IFC (International Floral Code) – business floristry and landscaping. Managing Partner of the Radisson Slavyanskaya Floral Fashion House.  Nadezhda told how changes in the global context affect the floral design of spaces.

Marina Solovyova is the Commercial Director of Altay Village Teletskoye. Marina spoke about the change in the protocol of communication in the premium segment in the tourism industry.”

After the speakers’ speeches and answers to questions, the participants continued to communicate in an informal setting.
